I designed, letterpressed, and hand-packaged a limited edition of 2011 Recession Calendars for friends and colleagues. Downsized in scale (to reflect the downturn), the art emerged from business after business filing bankruptcy papers. The calendar was made as a rain dance for an economic upswing, demonstrated by the title "The Sun'll Come Out". Each month featured unique art inspired by a particular company that filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in that month of the previous year. The calendar packaging included a black nail to hang your hopes on—or that month's card.
